The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta has again been awarded the prestigious Sailors For The Sea Platinum Accreditation as part of an International Clean Regatta certification.
Sailors for the Sea is the world’s leading ocean conservation organisation that educates and activates the sailing and boating community toward restoring ocean health. Events are judged in a series of 20 categories, and for the second year running, Dartmouth has attained the Platinum highest award.
Regatta Chairman Ed Botterill said:
‘We are thrilled to be recognised internationally by this Platinum Sustainability Award, one of only 3 UK based Regattas. Not only do the Regatta Committee, Rowers, Sailors, Traders and all of our visitors work hard and contribute to this recognition, but we wouldn’t be able to succeed without the incredible and sustainable work of the Dart Harbour and Navigation Authority and the magnificent waste removal and recycling division of South Hams District Council. This award is recognition for all of those involved in making a sustainable and responsible event in the year of our 180th Royal Regatta.’
The 180th Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta will take place between 23-30 Aug 25.
