After the final confirmation of the lifting of all Covid restrictions from the 19th July, we are delighted to confirm we will be going ahead with Regatta 176 in August! There will be all the usual sport and entertainment. Sailing, rowing, crabbing, road races, swimming gala, live music, our shopping parade and much more besides. Our official Regatta Souvenir Programme will be hot off the printers by the beginning of August for you to buy, and help support us, for just a fiver.
There is still a little guidance to come from the Government regarding large scale events such as ours, but it seems sensible for everyone who is looking forward to visiting and taking part in #myregatta to start planning.
Guidance for attending the event might well involve:
– Getting your second jab as soon as you can.
– Wearing a mask in crowded areas.
– Regular hand washing and sanitising.
– Knowing your own Covid status (testing will be available in town on each afternoon of the Regatta).
– Familiarising yourself with how to obtain your Covid Pass from the NHS website as it seems that this might be required for some of our larger events.
Please note, Dartmouth is tremendously busy, and will no doubt continue to be so. Plan your journey early and have a strategy about where you will park! There will be limited parking available to pre-book on Coronation Park during Regatta week from U-Park, but South Hams District Council has confirmed they will be operating the Park & Ride at the top of town: good news indeed. Restaurants and pubs will also be busy, many will be continuing to operate under current covid rules, so check, book early and be ready with your masks!
We will of course continue to monitor how things are going over the forthcoming weeks and make any future decisions based on Government advice and further information will be published as we have it on Social Media and our website.
We are tremendously excited and can’t wait to see you for some good old fashioned British fun from 21 – 28 Aug 21!!
