Between 20:00 Monday 22nd August and 07:00 Tuesday 23rd August our traffic management contractor, Chevron TM, will be implementing the usual traffic system for this year’s event.
The TTRO is virtually identical to that of 2021.
One small change has been added to improve the flow of traffic from the temporary traffic lights through Fairfax Place. The eight spaces on the lower part of Newcomen Road this year will be a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Unloading’ area. This is to prevent traffic backing up through the traffic lights.
Blue Badge parking will be available on Victoria Road as it has been in previous years.
The purpose of implementing the traffic over-night is to minimise any impact of the process of implementation.
The main Town Pontoon Bus Stop will not be in use during the whole of Regatta. Instead, buses will use the following as their termini:
90 – Marks and Spencer
All other services affected – Ship in Dock Inn/Above Coronation Park
The traffic changes will gradually be removed on the morning of Sunday 28th August, with the aim to have all roads re-opened by 12:00 midday.
To highlight to anyone in Dartmouth about the enforceability of the TTRO, it can only be enforced ‘when the appropriate road traffic signs are in place’ and TTRO notices will be advertised around Dartmouth on Monday night, and yellow Parking Suspension signs will be displayed as the week goes on.
If anyone has any questions about the TTRO and traffic changes for the facilitation of The Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta please let us know.
