Waiters / Waitresses Race

Always a hotly contested fun event, this is one of the few usually only competed in by the locals. But, that doesn’t mean that visitors are barred! Dartmouth is full of restaurants, cafés and pubs that sell food so it’s pretty obvious that it has its fair share of waiters and waitresses and they are all keen to prove that not only is their establishment the best in town but their food has staff that have the capability of serving it quicker.
Although winning is a must, speed isn’t the deciding factor for the race to get over the finishing line first. No, it’s style and balance that gives the edge to the winner that takes the prize because it’s the one with the most liquid left in their glass that wins. The measuring is always scrutinised carefully by the judge at the finishing line at the Crab and Bucket.
