Travelling by Car
For visitors arriving by road, the only parking available is the Park and Ride (see below), which is situated on the road A3122 approaching Dartmouth from Totnes. This is a regular Park and Ride bus service into the town which is on the right as you enter the town. It will be well signposted. If you are travelling by road from the Torbay area, there is a privately operated park and ride at Kingswear (see below). It is also possible to travel by train from Paignton to Kingswear.
Park and Ride
Dartmouth Park and Ride operates from well-signposted car parks approximately three-quarters of a mile from the town centre on the A3122 Dartmouth to Totnes Road. Cost will be £5 per day and the car parks will be open 8.00am–7.00pm. From Tuesday 28th August until Saturday 1st September inclusive, the Park & Ride Bus service termination point for both picking up and setting down will be outside the Ship in Dock Inn. Just a reminder to all South Hams Residents, if you have purchased your annual Park and Ride permit the Dartmouth Park and Ride is included during the Regatta Period. Business permits may also be used for the Regatta period.
Kingswear Park and Ride
The Lions club of Brixham are running a park and ride for Dartmouth Regatta. - £10 for a car. Regular service. Running from 10am up till 23.30 Friday and Saturday. Bus from hill head holiday park Kingswear to the banjo in Kingswear. All proceeds to local charities! For Sat Nav users the postcode is TQ5 0HH.
Town Centre Parking
There is NO town centre parking available, and a number of roads both in Kingswear and Dartmouth will be signed as ‘CLEARWAYS’ which means no parking at anytime. A limited number of parking spaces will be available at Coronation Park for disabled badge holders only.
General Traffic Notice
During the Regatta there is a revised traffic route through the town from the North Embankment. The route will be clearly signed and some one-way roads will operate as two-way systems with traffic lights. Please be aware of these changes and drive with due care and attention.

From Dartmouth: First ferry 7.30am, Last ferry 11.10pm
From Kingswear: First ferry 7.40am, Last ferry 11.15pm
A double ferry service will be in operation during the Regatta period. Please ensure you are at the town pontoon in plenty of time for the last ferry from Dartmouth–Kingswear at 11.10pm.
Please note that the Taxis operate during the Regatta days from Mayors Avenue, at Police Station Square opposite the Dartmouth Visitor Centre.
Public Bus Services
The buses during Regatta are as follows-
- 90 (town bus) terminating at Flavel Place.
- 91 Park & Ride bus. Setting down on North Embankment. Picking up at bottom of College Way near Ship in Dock Inn.
- X64 (Exeter Bus) and 3 (Kingsbridge Bus) Setting down and picking up on North Embankment.
Stagecoach Stagecoach South West will be offering special services to and from the Dartmouth Regatta. Additional services will be running on Torbay routes 18, 20 and 120 and visitors can also use the Dartmouth Park and Ride. Departs Kingswear 10.40 and every 45 minutes until 12.55 then 14.10 and every 45 mins until 17.15 (+ Fri 18.15). Sat 1st Sept, departs Paignton 10.00 and every 45 minutes until 13.00 then 14.15 and every 45 mins until 17.15, then 18.15, 19.15, 20.15, 21.00. Departs Kingswear 10.40 and every 45 minutes until 12.55 then 14.10, 14.55, 15.40, 16.30, 17.15, 18.15, 19.15, 20.15, 22.00, 22.45.

All timetables may be updated nearer to the Regatta dates and we will do our best to notify you all accordingly.
