Regatta Fete

For regular visitors and returning Dartmothians, the Grand Fete marks the start of Regatta Week. This year, organisers are pleased to announce that this much-loved event will be a ‘Right Royal Regatta’ event; participants are urged to dress themselves and their stalls accordingly. The Grand Fete takes place on Saturday 20th August in the Royal Avenue Gardens.

The Grand Fete will be opened at 11am by Tony Beard, the ‘Wag from Widdecombe’.

A full programme has been organised to entertain both young and not so young throughout the afternoon.

Dartmouths own popular sea shanty group, The Nauti Buoys, will be joined by Dan Brazier, juggler and entertainer.

Our sponsors, WOODLANDS - The largest family theme park in the South West, will bring an intriguing maze game, accompanied by the sea dragon and some exciting prizes.

A range of games and competitions will test participants speed, dexterity and good fortune.

Stalls run by the regatta committee and other local organisations will complete the line-up.

Children are invited to bring along their Teddy Bears and join the traditional Teddy Bears’ Picnic at 3.00pm.

The afternoon’s proceedings conclude with a band concert by ‘Spectrum Music’.
